Shooting ranges and more

Hei, Are there any open (where non-military persons can be) pistol ranges near Kerava, Uusimaa?

Closest is in Sipoo i think ?

I have lots of questions about shooting sports in Finland, so if anyone wants to help then private message would be nice.

Sipoo is the one i´m looking for because i want to shoot practical. Only problem is that where can i hold my gun near Sipoo(wife is anti-gun )?- One place that i got answered from one other post was http://www.hiidenkivi.fi/page/5/aseiden-sailytyspalvelu .... But that is little bit too far to drive to. Home-Hel-Sipooo-Hel-home every time i want to shoot. That´s like 2.30 hours and 140 km per time I´m sure i´m not the only one with that kind of "problem", so can someone offer me an solution? - Or do all of you just keep their guns under the pillow at home?

You are required by law to keep your weapons in such place that it can not be accessed by persons who are not authorized to do so. If you get more than 5 semiautomatic weapons you will be required to keep them in an approved gunsafe.

If you only have a pistol and a pillow I would suggest to purchase a small "safe" (not approved) with keypad (from your local hardware store) and bolt it to either on the floor or to the wall. If you have a rifle aswell, you can keep the bolt inside the safe and the rest somewhere more suitable.

Or you could always get a new wife :-)

Im familiar with these regulations. Basicly same in Estonia. I just thought that maybe someone is providing with that kind of service.

Daniel, I would opt out Sipoo range (SSG) unless you are a member of the club and, in particular related to IPSC, registered "safe shooter" as stipulated by SAL (the national shooting federation). However, you may want to consider to shoot in HSC (=Helsinki Shooting Club) which is located very close to that service provider, where you have considered to keep your firearms.

I´m licenced practical shooter by Estonian IPSC region and i would like to continue shooting practical here in Finland. I´m planning to become member of SSG, but right now the only problem is that where can i store my gun...

A friend argued with his girlfriend that this is what the law requires: to take care of the storage of the gun safely yourself, in the best possible manner that you know. To make sure it won't go into wrong hands. And to do that you need the safe at your home, no other option is as safe. Worked in that case.
