I'm going to run a long picatinny rail down my Saiga 12 with a Docter sight. Does anyone know if there's a picatinny style front/rear buis that's low enough to co-witness with a Docter style sight? Any Team Shitbird members around? I've learned to have a lot of respect for Finnish gun owners and rock bands, I've got to learn the language so I can read the other boards and join in on the action.

I don't know any back up sight which might be suitable for your plans but I have noticed that you can use the whole window of a low mounted Docter as a giant ghost ring.
Actually that was something JumiK did when he broke his Docter at a shotgun match this spring. Even he couldn't fix it right there so he shot the slug stage anyway. He ended up winning it with quite a big marginal.
